An anthropomorphic swan who dreams of flight finds a sequestered community of “adult drawers” who attempt to help her realize her dream. Beyond simple flight, she dreams of being filled—of being opened and flushed with impurities, rendered weightless, leaving behind corporeal neurosis, a fear of food, and all bodily anxiety. Through a trembling dream of other possible lives, Margot touches the beating heart of communities focused on dream lives—of animal people—of living airplanes.

Margot’s drawings are as beautiful as ever, packed with detail but maintaining lively fluidity—the story told in large, looping, pseudo-Spencerian script.
