Hymns to a new sovereignty—of rot and decay. Join our shambling warband. Don the half-moon mask as a deep, sonorous pulse echoes through the canyons, driving our nocturnal raids. We must erect the fallen kingdom.
Produced between 2021-2025, this album represents four years spent refining the dub-washed industrial gloom introduced on the self-titled LP on Lost Soul Enterprises. “Sovereign” consists of eight tracks that weave a shuddering sonic narrative featuring technoid rhythms, reverb-haunted percussive atmospherics, sparse FM tones, and sampled Puredata synthesis experiments.
This album features contributions from several friends including a frenetic bass clarinet workout from multi-instrumentalist Arrington De Dionyso, sound source from Coarses, drum samples and production assistance from Andrew Nolan, and studio assistance from Tony Fairchild. It was mastered by Kevin Bednar, whose patience is greatly appreciated.
“Sovereign” features original artwork from the illustrator and writer Priscilla Genet, a returning collaborator whose curatorial hand and stylistic eye for macabre and anarchic romanticism is equally reflected in her own work on the Organ Bank imprint and in various underground comics anthologies.
The album includes a hand-assembled chapbook of eight stream-of-consciousness thematic meditations upon the attempts to construct a sovereign self under the mediated landscapes of civilizational totality.
The physical edition of “Sovereign” is limited to 125 hand-numbered copies. Each copy features a professionally-duplicated 60-minute cassette, a chapbook, a download card for high-quality digital files, and a small baggie of dried rose petals and a charcoal-based myrrh incense cone. It is all housed in a wax-sealed 9″x9″ black linen paper envelope, with an affixed album art bookplate printed on color cardstock.
This album was made possible in part by the Fourth River Grant, provided by Honcho x Rising Artist Foundation in Fall of 2025.
