“Man shall be humbled on the plains of his development. He will wander blind from ruin to ruin, cold with fear and chattel to the hunger that gnaws at his bones. His hubris will be stoppered like a flask of wine. He will know his fault by the sun which stands in fiery witness and the wind which breathes its judgement in the final silence of the world. He will roam without a home or a quiet place to make his comfort, the dirt his master and his slave by which he will drive his spirit across the barren waste. He will live as the rats of the field on gnawed corn and dried roots and the decay of drooping fruits. For Man proclaims the light while stepping into darkest night.”

– Sean M. Huber

A boy stuck in bush-captivity. Building gore, filth, violence, heat, and stench. Visceral and full of sensory detail. The guarded terror of a troubled-teen camp accelerated, pushing into Wake in Fright-like hell. The feeling of being trapped. The animal desire for escape. Real, trembling fear. Short, abstract, precise, and poetic, with something lurking in the space between words. The experience of witnessing the falling apart of animal bodies, baking in the desert, rendered like Coetzee, with a real reverence for the sacred. Watching maggots feast in the stifling sun.

A beautiful edition from Infinity Land. Full-color printing designed by and featuring collage illustrations from Karolina Urbaniak. Thick, slightly textured uncoated paper stock. 80 pages, softcover, with small flaps.

Sean has also sent us these really lovely, large, Manson prayer cards. It’s hard to capture them in a photograph but they’re on a nice, thick cardstock, half letter (lengthwise) sized. Blood splattered. One will be included in each order.
